The Great Work: Initiation into the Mysteries

The foundational structure of the initiatory journey is held in the symbolism of the four elements, which represent both the four states of matter and the four parts of the soul: Body, Mind, Emotions, and Spirit. The four planes of the soul can also be thought of as initiatory levels that the candidate rises thru. Expanding awareness on, then conscious participation in, and ultimately, mastery over each of the four planes.

The process of initiation was the process of "waking up" on each of the four planes of existence, one after another, until at the end of the process, the initiate becomes the magician, able to wield his craft with mastery and focus on each of the planes, and in each of the corresponding bodies. This triggers the emergence of the mysterious fifth element, and aligns the magician with the mind of the universe, of creation, and of true genius. This is your destiny.
